Baby Faith didn't sleep well through the nights, she's been waking up crying & asking me to apply medicated oil on her tummy. Finally awoke at 0625hr, she asked for some milk. I carried her to the kitchen & prepared some milk for her, just as we are going back to the room, I heard her cough abit & some vomitus on hers & my shirt...clean her up abit & thought, don't think it's a good idea for her to drink the milk, so I poured away about a quarter of it knowing that she'll cry & fussed if none was given to her.
So we went back to the room, she lied on the bed drinking her milk...when she finished I lift her head so that she can sit up but after a mere second, she lied back down (perhaps she's very tired)...true enough, once she lied on the pillow, like a Merlion...everything (milk, last night's dinner - porridge & corn) just gushed out of her mouth. I carried her to the toilet & get the maid to change the bedsheet. Baby Faith was given some warm water before cleaning up but everything just came out once she's done with her drinking. Her little tummy couldn't contain anything I suppose. After washing up, she vomitted yet the 04th time - all the warm water she's drunk.
She asked for some warm water, so was given. But again, she vomitted...poor gal, she must be feeling really thirsty :( She fell asleep shortly after these 5 times of vomitting.
After she woke up, with my mother-in-law's advise, gave her a little raw sugar water. She didn't throw up, so thought ay, it worked. She had her breakfast, just a about half of the mantou. She asked for milk, I can't give her her normal milk so gave her about 100ml of soya bean milk. That was at about 1210hr...BUT OMG!!!! Like a Merlion again, EVERYTHING just gushed out of her mouth. I quickly cleaned her up with my mil's help, then rushed her to the Clinic downstairs (clinics are halfdays on Sat, so closes at 1230hr). Yes, we stepped into the clinic at 1225hr, registered & you can actually see the face of one of the clinic assistant, it's like, hello...we are closing in 5 mins, can't you come earlier. All gathered to gossip, I in fact called but the phone was switched to fax already. That was fast huh...What kind of attitude is this???
She was diagnosed with Gastric Flu. Advise was, every half an hour 2 sips of fluid...water, 100+, H2O (isotonic drinks are closest to hospital drips), those who vomits & have diarrhoea needs rehydration, replenishment of fluids & hydrolytes. Control food intake, very little intake at more frequent intervals.
She was prescribed with the following medication: For Vomitting - 1) Dimenate (to take 1 hour before food) 3.5ml, 3 times/ day. 2) Domperidone Suppository (1 supp, 2 times/ day). For Diarrhoea - 3) Loperamide/ Diatrol (3.5ml, 3 times/ day). 4) Lacteol Forte (1/2 sachet, 3 times/ day).
After taking some of the medicine, Baby Faith did not vomit but had loose bowel one more time on the same day. She kept asking for milk which I had to firmly reject. So I had no choice but to purchase a small tin of Soy base Milk Formula for her. Haizzzz....at least she can drink some milk as she's lost her appetite & lethargic most of time. Lying down quietly & fallen asleep more often throughout the day.
Praying that she gets better & hope that at this time, she'll really have a good good rest. Lord, please keep a close watch over Baby Faith & give her the strength to fight the viruses, amen...
