Baby Faith is cOughing so badLy...whEeZing tOoo & bReadthLess...

Baby Faith had been coughing on & off since beginning of the month. Now she's having a bad cold as well...very phlegmy cough, running nose, wheezing & breadthlessness...OMG!!! that's toOoo cruel for a little gal. Brought her to the GP (Blk 608 AMK Ave 5 - Family Care Clinic & Surgery, a few blocks away from where I stay) on 20th Oct Wed. It didn't really help, she wheezes more & a little breadthless on the next day...tried calling the GP in the morning but was told by the nurse that the doctor WILL call back which it did not happen. I waited till in the evening & called the GP again & checked with the nurse about the doctor not calling back. The reaction from the nurse just indicates how irresponsible they are & how communicative are the communications between doctor & nurses. The nurse's said, "y? the doctor didn't call arh? I already put the card on the doctor's table & paste a note lei, Miss". My reply to her was: "When I called in this morning, I mentioned it's rather Urgent, please ask your doctor to call me As soon as he/ she comes in Before they see any patient. Thank you." She told me ok ok...When patient specifically request & telling you it's urgent, have the decency to indicate URGENT OR Remind the doctor about it. I'm sure doctors don't just see 1, 2, 3, 4 OR 5 patients a day...they may have overlooked. As the nurse or clinic assistant, & with compassion & responsibility, I'm sure there should be PROPER & Good communications between doctors & assistant(s). Anyway, doctor eventually called BUT instead of being apologetic & concerned, do you know what she said? "My husband had given her the medication for opening up the airway & wheeze, if you think or find that she's serious then bring her to A&E." By the way, clinic is run by husband & wife doctors, Faith had seen the husband the night before. Well, to a certain extent what the wife doctor said may be true...as in go to A&E if it's serious BUT I'm sure there are far better way in talking to your patient(s). What an attitude? Angry not?

Anyway after that, I decided to call darling's cousin, Xiao Min (oso a GP)...she advised to switch to Ventolin Inhaler instead of the Oral Medication (Britalin/ Dhasolone). I did & she got slightly better though still very phlegmy & lots of mucus for just about a week.

On the 29th Oct Fri, she's breadthless again...called xiao min again & was advised to bring her to KK a&e as she's been like that for too long & being breadthless is no joke. So we brought her in at about 1730hr & was told that her oxygen level was rather low at 93% (Normal 96%-100%) & she was given the oxygen mask for about 15 mins & then was given 10 puffs Ventolin & 4 puffs Atrovent (a total of 4 cycles), in between oxy mask was given. Baby Faith also did a chest x-ray which was ok, clear of other viruses. We were at a&e till about 2130hr & after collecting medicine, it was like 2200hr...what a long evening.
